with Lyle Galdeira and Russell Yamanoha
KAPAHULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - This week on Cheap Eats Lyle and Russ are
living on the edge but not in a bad way.
Both Lyle and Russ are back in one of their favorite spots in
Kapahulu. Burgers on the Edge is a mouthful for Cheap Eats hosts. Right
on the edge of Kapahulu Avenue fronting the new Safeway. It's the
ultimate in flame broiled burgers. At Burgers on the Edge they literally
let you have it your way.
While Lyle places his order, he recommends how to go about ordering
the burger of your dreams. Upon arrival, as a customer, one should check
off the kind of burger that is wanted and all of the condiments. Like
their specialty burger -- the Thairiffic Burger. This burger comes with
sweet Thai chili sauce.
Also the Roy Yamaguchi Burger includes egg, plus cheese and A1 steak
sauce.
If you're not comfortable with the specialty burgers available on the
menu, Burgers on the Edge has something for everybody. The BB & B
Burger has the three B's -- bacon, barbeque sauce and blue cheese.
To think Thanksgiving only happens once a year, not at this burger
joint. The Turkey Burger is Thanksgiving dinner on a bun. It includes
cranberry relish and brown gravy.
Most of their one third pound burgers are priced under $10. Two
styles to choose from are ground chuck or Kobe style beef.
"I've got a Barbequed Kobe Burger, cheese, onions, tomatoes and some
sweet potato fries," Chris Kahaku resident of Manoa said.
Lyle asks Kahaku, "Can you get all that in your mouth?"
"I'm gonna try," he says.
While at Burgers on the Edge, Russ made his own creation which
includes Swiss, Russian lettuce, grilled onion, bacon, cranberry relish
on a whole wheat bun.
Lyle on the other hand has taken advantage of the one third Wahoo
Burger. It's a little fattier than your normal chuck but that's what
makes it taste good. It's got barbeque sauce, jack cheese, lettuce,
onions and mushrooms.
